A general view of an Intercontinental Hotel at The O2 in London, Britain October 20, 2020. Its shares were down 3.6% by 1044 GMT, with Bernstein analyst Richard Clarke attributing the drop to the slowdown in net unit growth and fears it might miss its full-year guidance. "We definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel," he said, adding that IHG was growing in new signings and system size. The group recorded growth across its leisure, business travel and group travel segments, Maalouf said in a statement. With more than 40 songs in the show, some like "Papa Don't Preach" were dispatched in seconds, but all of her re-inventions, from Catholic Madonna to Country Madonna, featured. CNN —Madonna took the stage in London on Saturday in the long-awaited debut of her surprisingly poignant new ‘Celebration’ world tour, which had been delayed after she suffered a serious health scare during the summer. The “Like a Virgin” performer also addressed her health troubles, saying it had been “a crazy year for me.”“I didn’t think I was going to make it, neither did my doctors. Madonna battled a bacterial infection in June that caused her to cancel the first leg of the “Celebration” tour in North America. Indeed, it should be noted for Madonna’s die-hards that the tour is not at all reserved only for her chart hits. Madonna often faced away from the audience, performing to a camera that then projected a flawless-looking Madge back to the crowd.

CNN —When the crewed Artemis II mission makes its lunar flyby in late 2024, we’ll be able to see video of the moon like never before — and it’s all thanks to lasers. Along for the historic journey to the moon will be the Orion Artemis II Optical Communications System, or O2O — making Artemis II the first crewed lunar flight to demonstrate laser communications technology. This illustration depicts the Orion Artemis II Optical Communications System sending a laser signal from the Orion spacecraft to Earth. Lasers will be able to send back more data at a quicker rate across longer distances, such as when Orion is flying by the moon during Artemis II. “We are thrilled by the promise laser communications will offer in the coming years,” says Badri Younes, deputy associate administrator and program manager for space communications and navigation at NASA headquarters in a statement.
While Hollywood deals with the first TV and movie writers’ strike in 15 years, the wealth of content that we have available to us is a good reminder of the creativity those writers have put into making the shows and movies we love. Something to sip on…Corey Mylchreest as Young King George, India Amarteifio as Young Queen Charlotte in episode 101 of "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story." Liam Daniel/NetflixOne of the reasons the strike is even happening is because streaming has changed the entertainment industry so much that writers say their wages are being adversely affected through shorter seasons and changing distribution models. Those individuals can’t work – and some of our favorite shows will be delayed – unless writers and studios reach a new agreement soon. In the meantime, catch up on some brilliant shows you’ve missed.
"You know, male executives, most of the studio musicians were men, most of the managers were men, it was just more male-dominated in every sense. She recalled bracing herself to enter rooms with her female manager, and experiencing sexism and challenges that male artists weren't coming up against. They were embracing my way of making my music and my way of visualizing my music through photography and videos." Twain said this is shown by fewer new female artists emerging in country music than there once were, while the charts are typically dominated by men — or women collaborating with men. "Total annual spins" for male artists in radio's year-end reports increased from 5.8 million in 2000 to 10.3 million in 2018 for male artists; as spins for women fell from 2.8 million to 1.1 million over the same period.
